Newbie Here..
I'm new to this whole forum thing so bare with me here..I have a 2003 SL500 and am tired of paying the dealerships the crazy amount of money for the basic maintenance performed...so here I am trying to get started on my own through the help of some folks on here...
If anyone can point me in the direction of maybe a sticky or something for being able to check/drain/refill my oil level along with the filter change to start me off it would be much appreciated.

if you don't have an owners manual you can probably get one off eBay. parts and the filter wrench can be purchased from autohausaz.com and synthetic oil is usually a lot cheaper from the box stores, especially in the 5 quart containers or by the case. you'll probably need a 13mm wrench for the drain plug and a 8mm socket to remove the splash guard if it's like my 129 and 170. you can use a water bottle with the bottom cut off for a funnel. I use two hydraulic floor jacks one on either side to raise the car. use owners manual for jack use locations. normally just behind where you use your car jack you'll see a pad underneath. a subscription to alldata.com is helpful.
