me 02 sensor be gone '80 450sel

howdy, [this is a separate ? relating to my previous post of stoppage ] my 02 sensor seems to be disconnected, yet the car still runs. i'm guessing that that is it on the driver's side exhaust man. there is a 1/4 inch pipe which runs parallel to the exhaust man. then turns out pointing to the ignition controler; but has no wire coming from it. the instrument cluster has an 02 light, which i have never seen light up. how does the car run w/o input from the 02 sensor? the fuel regulator buzzes while the engine is runnig like it is getting input, but the buzz is steady. i think it is supposed to vary according to the input from the 02 sensor. HELP as this is my daughter's car, so i need help as she is now abusing my 4Runner as we speak! tanks, pat
ps -- any chance someone might have a wire diagram of this engine - 1980 450sel ?
