I have a 1993 SL with the hydraulic leak so prominant in this forum. The problem is, I was going to loan it to my son-in-law & tried to put the hard top on & now the front part is locked & the back isn't. Is there a manual override to either unlock the hardtop so I can remove it or lock it down so the car is driveable?

OK - it's sort of driveable - if you don't mid the very frequent pings that remind you it's not safe to drive . . .

Please review the thread found using this link. It is a description of where and how to download a copy of the owners manual for your car.The detailed information is in the OM. You will need the MB 'special tool' that should be in your toolkit in the trunk to work the bolts securing the top.
