I recently had my roof and motor replaced. Upon getting my car back from the shop, now my stereo doesn't work. Stereo display works but no sound. I took stereo out and tested it with direct connection to speakers and found that the stereo works. My hunch is that amp may have been disconnected or wires damaged. Does anyoone know where the factory amp is on this model and have any tips how to access? I appreciate your help!

The AMP in my 96SL500 is located in the compartment behind the driver's seat. A good site showing how to remove it or possibly hook up the wires is wwwcarstereohelp.com.

Recently got my 94 SL600 back from shop where they replaced convertible top nd motor. When got it back, stereo didn't work. Digging around, I found that factory Bose amp was unplugged. When I plugged it in, stereo works but have loud, high pitched noise coming through speakers that is constant volume irrespective of stereo volume control. Can turn to 0 or all the way up to max volume and high pitched noise is same volume. Gues that's why the folks whom replaced the roof decided to unplug my amp - to get rid of the noise. Meanwhile, they deny knowing anything about it......
What could be the cause of the noise? How should I fix? Thank you!!
