Help???? DIY Ipod Adaptor?
I have a 98 SL500 with the factory Bose system.
Is there a simple input/out put plug to hook up an Ipod adapter cable?
What special tool/procedure is there to remove the radio unit?
Thanks in advance for you help

rogerpart,
I hope this helps, I just bought the service DVD and so far been very happy with it. As for your question about the IPOD I know the existing radios with that model/year don't have a plug for it but that doesn't mean someone hasn't found a way of making it happen.
I would be curious if anyone does install an IPOD in their R129.

Dude, remember the K.I.S.S. principle. I bought a Belkin Cassette adapter that goes into the cassette player and has a mini plug that goes into the iPod. With the sound turned down it sounds like a regular player running a tape, but of course it's only the adapter. I keep the adapter in the lockable glove box in the dash, and use it for long trips.
