head light wipers

When I bought my 1998 sl it didn't have the front wipers on the headlights.It doesn't even have a place that I can find where they were supposed to go.Did some years not have them?

If your car has the Xenon headlamp option, then I think the wipers are omitted. But I am not sure.

My 96 SL320 has Xenon headlights and the headlamp wipers are deleted. This is also specified in my 96 SL dealer brochure.
