Distributor?

I have an 1992 SL500. Its been sitting around in a garage for the past 8 months as i dont get much time to use it. The problem at the moment is that i start it up and she runs fine up until it gets up to temperature. Then it looses all power the revs drop right down and she stalls. Then it wont restart. You have to let the car cool right down then it starts and its fine again. I have been told it could be water in the distributor?? Any suggestions on what else it could be maybe coil pack or the HT leads?

Where abouts in the engine is the distributor so i can check it out.

I found a pic of what my engine bay looks like, ive looked under the centre platic cover but cant see anything.
