okay i am in the process of getting a 1987 mercedes benz 560 sl roadster convertible. first off, the trunk i cant get into it i think the latch might be broken maybe theres just some trick to it it opened before like a month ago. second of all if i can get a picture of the hard top latch release tool i am tryin to find it in the car i dont know what it looks like. also i would like to know where or if i can get rear jump seat so i can have rear passengers. lastly if anyone in the Richmond VA area knows where one is thats junked i need a few interior pieces that are falling apart let me know which yard to go to i know chesterfield auto doesnt have any SL there.

 

I had a 1988 560SL years back. From what I can remember about the trunk I think if I remember correctly there is a button that is silver with a hole for the trunk key. Push it with the key turned in it and thats how it would open. Or if the car is unlocked the key in hole is not needed. I THINK.

 

i THINK you're right i think i need a new trunk lock or something i can't get into it i need to get to the battery and stuff i cant get it to stay running i think it needs a fuel pump

 

Yes the battery is located in the trunk underneath the carpeting actually. I remeber that.
