I have a 2003 SL 500 the roof will not come down. The error message reads Visit Workshop I am sure the roof is not broken it probably needs to be re-set. has anyone encountered this problem and if so what did you do to correct this? Advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

 

If it were me, I would remove the electrical connector to the top controller, wait a few minutes, reconnect, and hope for the best. Then if that didn't work, I would remove the connector again and check the state of the various limit switch inputs to the controller -- very easy to do. If these all checked out I would take thecar to an independent shop that has M-B's DAS software to read the diagnostic codes.
