Default Color code

I'm a new owner of a 1999SL500 and am trying to determine the paint code. I've attached a photo of the door sticker and I believe the paint code is 744, but that's not what the car was advertised as being. It was advertised as Smoke Silver Metallic and 744 is Brilliant Silver Metallic, I believe.

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks
Rod
Not sure you can read the image, but the last four numbers following the VIN, after the words "passenger car", are 744

Bob

BTW, this link will get you to the the Russian site...

http://www.auto-parts.spb.ru/cat/cat...&client=dr2000

On the page you land on, type in your full VIN# where shown; click on the gray box next to the VIN space

On the next page, in the upper right hand corner should be a link marked 'Data Card'; this will tell you what shipped with the car when new, including color codes.

Well, the Vin verified that it is indeed a Brilliant Silver Metallic 744, but it indicates that it is both a 744U and a 744O but no one seems to know what that means.

Thanks all.
Rod
