Yesterday my son decided to move the center armrest of my 1994 500sl and rather than pushing the latch back he decided to lift same breaking the actual latch--specifically, the piece that allows the center armrest to slide back and forth. If I shove the piece in, i can still make the unit work; is there a better solution....short of replacing the entire unit? Can said piece be glued, repaired or ? Any suggestions? My son feels terrible and I really want to fix it or replace it to make him feel better.....I have tried to console (okay there is a pun there) him that the unit still works but he still feels bad....please any suggestions.....
