Default ADS Problem - Help!

I have a 99 SL600 that I think has a faulty sensor in the ADS. First off, the ADS light is intermittent and mostly comes on when it is warm to hot out (I tried resetting the steering angle switch no luck). Second, when I start the car the front end just drops about 3 - 4 inches right off the bat and while driving the front is very bouncy to a point of having to slow down to 25 to keep in the seat. Now if I put it in sport mode the bounce goes away but the front end still raises and lowers its self erratically. I do not see the accumulators being bad. I did have the codes read on it and of course these came back, right- body acceleration sensor, steering angle sensor, Level Control Lockout switch and the BAS release switch. Now they all can't be bad, I think one triggered the codes for them all. So before I throw some parts at her what do you think?

Default RE: ADS Problem - Help!

hi

had a similar problem - felt like the suspension was stuck fast - and head was hitting the roof !!!

I had the 4 nitrogen spheres replaced - which was not cheap over hear some £700 ($1300)

but it cure the problem of hard ride.

cant say that this is the full cure - but you can replace them in pairs (front and back) to spread the cost and see if it is the solution

best of luck

Default RE: ADS Problem - Help!

Had the same car, same problem and the same fix. Nitrogen spheres and the hydraulic valve. $4000. F**K! Now ADS light back on and now check engine light is on. And I'm getting a quote of $2000 to replace the antiknock sensor. Seems the sensor, not actually knocking, is the problem. Is there something fundamentally flawed with a company that would design a sensor that costs 2 grand (to replace a problem sensor problem). SHould I just drop it off a cliff?
