I have a 1993 SL500 that I bought used from an owner who pampered her and the low beams have never worked since I owned the car, high beams are fine as are all the other exterior lights.
Now for my new problem which I created, I took out the factory radio and CD changer and installed a Sony Bluetooth with amp in the trunk. Factory radio had a left channel intermittent problem and door speakers were just damaged from age and the elements. Taking those door panels off to change the speakers was a real mission and no one including Crutchfield makes a kit for this car to help the installation, I had to modify and make everything.
I accidently shorted one of the old radios wires to somthing else in the radio harness from the old radio and now the car runs and drives normally but the dash lights blink and interior floor lights blink while the car is running and some items like the power soft top do not work correctly. Also all of the gauges including the speedometer do not work now, the only one that does is the water temp. It is not a fuse unless there are more fuses then just the panel on the drivers side under the hood and the small panel in the trunk. Also some of the rows of lights that all light up when you first turn on the key no longer light up. How bad did I screw up my car and what do I do to fix it? Any help will be appreciated. How do I buy that CD I have heard about that has the service manual on it? Dave 305-310-3866

 

I would guess that you damaged the instrument cluster. But if I knew which lights in the cluster are not coming on and exactly what is wrong with the cluster, then I might have a different opinion.
