I just bought a 1987 560 SL. She is in great condition and just had her at the dealership to have her transmission fluid, transmission bushings, and shifter rod replaced. It feels like the car is not going into fourth gear. It is turning 2000 rpm at 60 MPH. Is this normal? Thanks for any info.

In my '87 the problem was the vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission. A simple adjustment and the 'clunk' disappeared.
