450 SL won't Idle
My problem started with a loss of rpms and no power. After changing the coil, plug wires, plugs, fuel distributor and checking the timing, I found the problem with the catylic converter being plugged. It being a 79 Texas does not require a catylic converter to pass the safety test so it was removed and replaced with exhaust pipes to the muffler. Now it will start and run smoothly but only at 1500 RPMs and above. When the throttle is released the engine dies. Any and alll help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Gordon
