450 or 560 trouble spots?
Hi all!
Newbie here. I’ve wanted a 450sl ever since I saw American Gigolo (no, I’m not a Richard Gere lookalike!) and now I’m in a position to get a nice one as a second car. I’m also looking at the 560sl.
My question is, what are the trouble spots that I should be looking for when shopping for a nice, low-mileage 450 or 560?
Cooling? Drivetrain? Electrical? Body Integrity? Interior?
Also, what is a good price range for the 450 or 560?
Thanks!
Jerry

RE: 450 or 560 trouble spots?
I know that in 1986 Mercedes starting adding more rust proofing so i'd go with the 560 plus it has more power and an air bag. They are mostly identical but i dont know much about the mechainics on the 450 but the 560 is just like any other 560 timing chain is ur big worry.
