350sl 1972. Injection wiring
Hi all,
We have a 1972 350sl that has been bought in by the AA as a non runner. We have spark but no injection. No power to the injectors. Has anybody a wiring diagram or does anyone know where the power feed to the injectors come from.
Thanks
Richard

Don't quote me but I think there is a split 982 or 984 engine for the year model 1972. One electronic and the other mechanical, either way it's pretty obvious if it has wires going to the injectors it CIS.
Have you checked for an actual signal from the wires connecting to the injectors? A simple NOID light will give you the answer.
I think the computer will be at the right footwell, just remove the kick panel and check on the firewall.

1972 Merc 350sl With electronic Injection
Hi all,
Managed to get an old haynes manual with the wiring diagram for this old 1972 350 sl. Thanks for the last post, the control unit is above the passenger glove box. After checking out the inputs to the ecu we found that the main relay located above the fuse box on the drivers side kickpanel was faulty.
And forceinjection!!! This may be a counterproductive , I didn't need to check again!!! Due to the fact that I had recognised the system on this vehicle before posting it. Please make sure of your facts before treating us as inferiors!!!
Thanks all
Richard
