Default 2003 SL 500 rear hyrdaulic leak

My dealer tells me that that my rear struts have a slow leak and should be replaced....also that if rear was failing the front would soon follow so best to replace all 4 now. The charge is $4500 to replace struts, bearings, etc. How serious is this problem if I am getting no message from the internal diagnostic system? Can the fluid be topped off until problem worsens. FYI, car is only driven on weekends, less than 100 miles per week.

I just spent $1700 on the car to replace the shifting model, rear brake light and antennae housing.

Help!

I would suggest that a slow leak is not serious at all; and yes, the fluid can be topped-off. You can buy the fluid from a dealer, and the reservoir for the fluid is in the engine compartment and easily accessible.
