I recently purchased a 1998 SL500 for the summer and I discovered that the person had taken the bulbs out of the ABS and ESP warning lights on the dash. The car will only rev to 4000 RPMs and then it cuts out rather aggressively. I was wondering if there was a way to just disable limp mode or if I would need to diagnose the problems first. I really could care less about the ABS and traction control systems for now since this is just a weekend car. Any help on this topic would be much appreciated!

Whether for occasional use or for sale, like the one on your website, you're always better off at least having the DTC Codes read to determine root cause of the problem.
