When the car is cold, no sound comes from the radio. As it heats up, the volume creeps up with a ton of static at first. Little by little the static goes away, and sound comes - at first from the right speaker and then the left (after driving for 45 min. - 1 hour. Then the readio, CD, everything seems to work just fine. I have two questions - 1. Is it as smple as a bad amplifier (or is there some other possible issue?); 2. Is there an alternative to the $920 replacement cost for the amp? I'm not looking for anything crazy, I just want to listen to the radio & CD player. Any suggestions or experiences like this would be great. gm
