So many problems, was driving, ASR light came on and car stopped, but it's ok now I guess. Passenger seat won't adjust. Compartment box above gear keeps popping up. a "clocking" noise in the front while I go over a bump and a hissing noise as I get off the bump. Side view mirrors don't work, Wiper blade will stop in the middle of a wipe, speakers are blown, that's it for now. If you can help with any of these onideas or facts, please let me know. Thank You.

 

The wiper issue is usually the fuse it may look ok but if you remove it from the holder and replace it with a new one all should be OK. I am assuming it has the porcelain type fuses. It usually worth replacing the lot if they are the original ones.

 

P.S. If the fuse is good then remove the plastic wiper cover and lubricate the cam mechanism.

I own a 1996 600 SL , I had similar problems past week.
While checking the car I noticed that the main harness is to close to the engine and that the plastic cover of them , has been damaged , so the core made a short circuit every time you ran into a podhole or got the car wet . Another problem was the the sensors and actautors coneccted to this harness also got burned.
The Techie at the dealership confirmed that this problem is very common on ALL MERCEDES BETWEEN 1994 -1996.
The cost of the 2 main harneses is about 300 usd.
