1987 560 SL - What's it worth?
I am considering purchasing a 1987 560 SL as a fun weekend car and would appreciate any thoughts on valuation from you guy's.
The car I have in mind is a very original 2 owner 133,000 mile Texas car, so no rust. It scores well on Autocheck with no history issues. It has a straight body although paint needs a good buff. All bumpers and lights are good. Mechanically it drives fine, no obvious leaks, no smoke, no funny noises, nice smooth shifts and lots of power.
Interior needs work - Climate control suspect, although I did manage to get ice cold air after poking various buttons but fan speed was suspect. I believe exchange dash control units are available? Leather is ok but the seat mechanism's need attention. It will need new weather rubbers all round but I believe a kit is available?
Looks like it has been stood so will need fluids changing and a good tune up.
I can buy the car for $5,250. Is it worth it?
Look forward to your feedback.
