Hi everyone, new here. I would like to a 1975 to a 1976 engine swap, is it possible? And what's involved? I've heard the newer FI system is better. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Hi, This mightbe a too late reply, but I try anyway.. From 1971 to 1976, the Mercedes had electronics injection. 1971 to 1973 it worked great without catalyzers! From 1974 they where forced into the "catalytic time", and Mercedes had big problems!
So a Merc from 1974 to 1976 is difficult. Anyway, -an answer to your problem is difficult too!
A engine swap from 1975 to '76 is probably easy, but the electronics must be swapped as well. It might be that you need a software update as well (if you keep the older CPU)
