I have a 1999 S500 with a Becker model 1692 radio. The volume control is shot (loud only). I am trying to buy a replacement volume control, Becker may call it an encoder switch. I called Becker of North America and they will repair the radio, but said they can not sell me the part. Does anyone know where else I can find just the part.

 

Hi! If you already opened up the unit, you will find out what kind of "potentiometer" or encoder switch that is. It is probably not made by "becker" or any known brand, but from a Chineese factory. Please send me a picture and name on it, and I can figure it out for you!
But, if it's a encoder, it can be something wrong in the radio computer? .Check all wires first (at the PCB)...
