I have a 1990 420 SEL [W126], and am thinking of upgrading the factory 15" wheels to a set of AMG [A-220 series] wheels used on some of the newer [2000-2002] S & CL class cars. The new wheels are 18 X 8.5 front [44 mm offset] and 18X 9.5 rear [46 mm offset], respectively. I have seen cars like mine with 18" and even 19" wheels fitted in some cases, but am concerned about rubbing, suspension damage and other possible probs caused by fitting wheels that are too large. Does anyone know whether the above listed wheels will fit my car? And if so, will they also require the use of wheel spacers? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, and Best regards.
