water leak on floor in cabin
I have searched the forums and surprisingly didn't find this addressed.
I noticed today that I have a leak on the passenger side floor of my 2001 s500. Luckily I have all weather mats and could see it. (About a cups worth.) It tastes clean and I saw it drip. I was also parked facing upward on a moderately steephill. It has been raining in Seattle more than even usual andwe have also have had recent snow which the car was out in.
Has anybody experienced such a leak? help. thank you!

RE: water leak on floor in cabin
Your water is coming from your windshield drain on the passenger side. Open the hood. Raise it to the service posistion. on the passenger side near the windshield you will see a black plastic grate. Use a flash light and look down in it. You might see water. If you see water the drain is clogged. You can use a number of long tools to get down in there. Poke and prod until you find the soft spot and then go to town. If you dont see water you will see a rubber fitting which is the drain. It is proabably clogged.

w220?
Yep...but its called the heater plenum air intake drain.
Should be checked at every service. Very often is overlooked.
Pine needles the usual culprit.
Well known w220 (and other models) problem.
Water entering the vehicle (once the water level reaches 2 to 3 inches) can cause all sorts of electrical problems, usually with heater/AC control.
Get it sorted WITHOUT DELAY.

thank you, fixed!
Thank you everybody for your replies. I fixed the issue and it was full of water. It must have drained at least a gallon when I cleared the needles with my hand.
I would have replied sooner, but have had a devil of a time logging in. I must have spelled my password wrong or something. how annoying. Thanks again.

Better check underneath rear seat carpet, i got water into my car same way, and it fried some important relays, you have a computer under that seat, if water got back there you need to completely dry everything off and check your connections, good luck
