Yesterday ibought 01 S430 with 78000 miles on it...Today went to Mercedes Dealership around Chicagoland(was asking how much is going to be CD Changer for it,cause this one doesn't have it,but they told me ots all pre-wired!!!!) Well on the way back home CHECK ENGINE LIGHT went ON????? I own this car only 2 days.What is wrong...How much $$ dealers charging to check it out on the computer what is wrong??
And just finish looking on ebay for CD Changer you can get one with shipping about $250.00

Part: A203 820 90 89
Will this one work with mine 01 S430...And on what side its fonne be in trunk left orright Where is all wires????

take it to Autozone, they can check for the codes for free, but for more detailed info you can go to any german repair shop who has better equipment, they'll charge around 50$, unlike dealership 70$/hr, if nothing wrong they can put it off, if something is wrong, they'll tell you

 

OK Thank'u will go to autozone first,since its FREE then will see(if I need to go to MB Dealer)
And now can anybody please tell me more about CD CHANGER.Can I install it myself or should go to any shop???
PS.My Dad he got 01 ML320 with same miles as mine 78K and hes CHECK ENGINE light is ON too.So i would imagine that all MBs Check engines light is on when thay got around 80K?????

 

Autozone is helpful when it comes to retrieving codes. But whatever you do, make sure it's diagnosed properly coz it could cost you unnecessary repairs. But in your case, probably just the spark plug wires. If you're going to replace the wires, you might as well replace the Spark Plugs. The wires and plugs are pretty expensive on that car, but it should last you another 80K-100K miles.

haha man.. first thing You never go to the dealer!!! that would be the best advise ever.. unless your a ceo and your time is very expensive.. then go well just buy 2 cars then..
