this is my 2nd mb 1st was a 88 560 sl, now a 87 560 sel. there are 2 chrome badges on this car that i have never seen in any photo of thousands sel's i have researched.
its starting to get under my skin. the largest is between the front wheel well and the door frame, and has a crown on it, the 2nd is just above the gas filler door. emblems are on both sides.

 

ive never seen anything like that before on a benz, looks like pepboys bling.

 

the car only has 71,xxx miles and it belonged to a diplomat in washington d.c. i thought because of the crown on the emblem it might have had political connections or meaning.
i am going to put it back in the garage and return to driving my porsche.

looks like aftermarket bling that someone threw on there of no political importance. Just a "normal" crown and the air vent thingy was dead give away.
The one above the filller door is one that is no uncommon. rare to see one on a w126 though.
