Noisy Blower Unit

Hi,
Likely the blower bearing has gone dry or a leaf has entered the blower fan compartment.
Need to access the fan housing from the passenger footwell (look upwards). Need to remove panelling first. 3 screws + push towards toward bulkhead before pulling downwards.
This area is also prone to water ingress if the plenum drain (in the engine compartment) is not kept clear.

Unless they moved the blower on the 99 140 you diagnosis is correct, but the blower is in the engine compartment. There is a cover(oblong) with 6 phillips head screws, and two hoses going to it. You should gently remove the hoses, and remember the position, remove the screws, and lift up there is a sensor in one corner. With the cover off you will see a triangular filter, the blower is below. A few drops of ATF should alleviate the squeel.
