Hey guys, I am new to this forum as I have just acquired a mint 2000 S500 with 28K miles. My question is where can I buy new OEM "S500" and "MBZ Star" emblems for the trunk? The car I bought came with Gold emblems and the car is silver, not to my liking at all. I looked on ebay but came across aftermarket oem-like emblems only.

you can get them at the dealer for a lot of $$$$$$
i would just get the ones from ebay.

 

just remove all of them, looks better that way

 

I guess you are right, but at the very least the mercedes star emblem needs to be on the trunk. Even that is gold, yuck!

 

then i would say use eBay or maybe your local MB Junkyard

 

But aren't the ones on ebay imitation emblems. Have you ordered emblems off of ebay before?

 

i haven't ordered them, but i believe you would not be able to tell the difference

 

Most of the E-Bay stuff is Chinese imitation junk, and if you get it from a junk yard it wont have the two sided tape, the trunk star is held on with a screw

 

you can buy double sided tape, its not a problem

 

Exactly why I want OEM stuff. Do you know how to remove the trunk star?
