Default looking for info on production and features

Good afternoon fellow MB enthusiasts. I am looking for some help on finding information on production numbers for a sepcific year of S500. I am currrently working with a client of mine through my company who has asked me to locate information including prodution numbers and specs for his 1995 S500 Coupe.

Here's what I can tell you about the car. It is an ambassador edition with the diplomatic flag antennas on the rear and the full bullet proof S-Guard along with hidden handgun compartments in the doors.

It is an original 5.0L MB motor and it is the 2dr coupe version of the W140's. If possible I would like to find a vin decoder which is running to properly decode the specs of the car.

My biggest issue is I have searched every forum on the net high and low and have not been able to turn up a history or production records for the W140 coupes.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

heres the vin in case someone can properly decode it for me WDBGA70E7SA283640

vin infor.

usually the armor/diplomat options wont show on vin decoder since it's usually not installed at factory.

1995 MBZ S500 coupe.
5.0 v-8 DOHC 32V 315hp at 5600 rpm about 354lb/f of torque 3900 rpm
15/20 city/hwy mpg
91,900 USd MSRP
4-speed automatic
Wheel base- 115.90 in.
4695lb curb weight
Seats 4
Disc all four wheels with ABS RWD
Made in Germany
top speed 155.3 mph 0-62 about 6.7 secs

1993-1999 14,953 made. 1999 is rarest year but the rest was pretty equal amount. About 2500 for 1995. Not much production numbers are available for the S500 coupes between due to the fact that they had same designation (outside factory) as teh sedan. The actual proper model designatiojn for the 1995 S500 coupe is a C140. W usually means sedan in the S-Class world.
Even less was built specifically and or ordered for diplomats/head of states.

anything else you need to know?

yes there is one out there but one is a german website and one is russian website. Unfortunately I dont remember the address. I remember using it and it gave the break down of everything by vin number.

On the 94 S600 it all depends on what is wrong. And of course if it is a real Lorinser that automatically add a couple to few thousand to the value. The biggest value decreaser on those typoe of cars and just about any MBZ around 1999 and prior is the AC. If it doesnt work, then it might cost a couple of thousand to fix and many people will avoid it like the plague, especially the W140s. Condition of interior as that leather is very good quality only bested by Connolley and Rolls-Royce/Bentley and can be costly to reupholster with OEM. But if there are tears, ebay usually have a couple of set of S600 seats. I cant remember if the 94 had the two tone for the V12 or not. If not, then any S-class W140 interior of matching color will do. Of course, maintanence records are a plus, and emission systems should be in good condition with no check engine lights and smooth running.
And of course mileage over 150,000 starts to significantly affect sell value not that there is anything particularly wrong with one with over 150,000. Many solid running examples still running around better than one with half the miles. Under 100,000 mileage is relatively irrelevant unles it's an example under 50,000 miles. I've seen average ones, go for about 4,000 on the low end to about 10,000 on the high end and very few over 12,000 non lorinser type.

Thanks a bundle for the helful info. I brought the owner on as a client and it's verified as a genuine lorniser. The car has all the lorinser badging in the correct locations including the engine which a lorinser badged V12 engine. The car has 130,000 which would be apprx 100,000 milesish and as i drove it today the A/C blows cold and perfect like the day it was driven off the lot. The body is in 9 out of 10 shape and the leather is lightly worn but no rips or tears to be found. The car also has the fold out service trays on the back of front seats for rear passengers. All the gadgets are in full working order including the rear heated and adjustable seating.

This is definitely a well kept car and the owner is a heavy duty mechanic so the car is serviced regularly by himself and the dealership service for lighter maintenance.

I have determined with the client that $20,000 is a fair asking price and at very bottom we would hope for $15,000.

Feedback??? I have been doing this for some years but the MB classics pre 1980s is generally more my forte.

Thanks for all the help.
