Default Installing AVIC after market din unit

I am considering installing an(AVIC z3dvd-nav)due to the mercedes comand is the worst nav system ever made. MY comand system just went went dead. The dealer said a newunitis about 7k sounds like a stick up to me ! I have tryed to buy a used unit with no luck. The question is has any one re-wired their s-class for audio and what about the fiber opitc wires will affect anyother compoents of the car like sensors digtal stuff ect ?[sm=vader1.gif]

Probably not the answer you want, but you could buy a TomTom for £100-£200! Selling on offer on the shopping channels or at Halfords at the moment. Thye shopping channels offer European maps for the same price as HAlfords sell the stadard units, and upgrades of maps are expensive.

This solution will not tie you to Merc, and you can upgrade the software on he internet. The unit plugs into the cigarett lighter and sticks to the windscreen yu a rubber washer.

Or you could start saving ......
