I am considering a Mercedes s500. One is a 2000 & one is an '02. The mileage is 135000 & 175000 respectively. My question and concern is how many miles are these good for before having problems. I have always wanted one but am concerned on the mileage.

 

most of the time it's not about miles. Things that go wrong with miles assuming proper maintanence is very small. Unfortunately miles get a bad stigma so on top of things that wear out with time (rubber, gaskets, connections, wires), you have to deal with a car that had less and less maintance as it racked up miles as some people just plain refuse to maintain a car with 100,000+ miles as they did when they first got it. They assume it is on it's way out the door by that point but at those miles the Benz mechanicals are just warming up. If the 100,000 mainance have been done then you should be good for a little bit. If not... it's extra risky buisness with these cars.
