Default Help........

Hi, I am looking at buying a 2002 s500 from a friend of mine very cheap, car has 145,000 and in awesome shape, they are pretty much all highway miles, not much city driving, but it does have the check engine light on. Every once in a while the low oil light comes on while driving and says shut car off. Checked the oil, but the car runs great and has plenty of synthetic oil in it? No strange noises, clean oil. Is this something i should buy or not? Or is it just some sensor malfunctioning?

I know nothing about Mercedes....

yeah i have been told that, why is that so? The price quote I got from the shop here was $725 to replace the bad sensors? Would it matter if I am only paying $3,500 for it?
