Gas Gauge not working?
Hey guys I'm a new guy to this site, I have a 2000 Mercedes S-500 Sport package with 94k miles. I'm from Chicago, IL and I need some help.
During a storm we had a few months ago, I accidentally drove through a foot or two of water, and a bunch of water got into the rear computer.
After replacing the modules and computers under the rear passenger seat, I noticed my gas gauge still does NOT work. Neither does the "range" option.
If anyone could please help me I would appreciate it very much!

i guess u been waiting for an answer for quite sometime there... anyhow.. i shall give you some advice.
1st have some electrician to check out wither the fuel gauge is damaged or it could be the gauge floater meter on ure mb which is damage. possible from just faulty breakdown .. i don't think its due to the water. if it is the fuel pump making those damages you wouldn't get to start your car.
have a visit to your MB certified garage or workshop to see what's wrong using a diagnostic computer to troubleshoot the problem

I'm new to the Mercedes family with my 2004 Mercedes C230 Kompressor Sport, which I have owned for 3 months. The car has 173k miles and naturally has its problems due to its age. This morning, while on my way to work, I downshifted into third to get ahead of someone to change freeways. When I finally reached cruising speed I looked at the cluster and was dismayed to see the fuel gauge bottomed out. After several stops, and restarts throughout the day, the gauge remained bottomed out. Having endured this condition before in my previous vehicle felt my heart drop thinking I would have to go through this all again. I sleuthed the net and luckily, found this post. It worked for me! I could not be more elated. Thank you Mercedes Forum, you saved the day and potentially a lot of money. I am curious though, which fuse it is that causes the reset? I just pulled inspected and reinstalled every fuse and relay in the three fusebox locations on my car.
