RE: ATF change on 2005 S430
I'll let you know, I ordered my fluid from autohausAZ and will do it in the next week. I plan to put the new fluid in down the dipstick tube. I'll measure what comes out to determine how much to put in. I also plan to fabricate a dipstick (use the oil dipstick) by marking how far I put it down the tube and where the level is on the stick. Aftre adding ATF I'll put the diptsick to the mark and bring it to the previous level on the end of the stick as a back up to the volume replacement method.

Are you going to drain and fill a few times to dilute what is in the converter , lines and cooler?

I may do a double drain/fill on the MB but I only ordered 5 qts and would need 10. Given that MB calls this "lifetime fluid and the tranny never needs service" I figure a single drain/fill with MB factory synthetic fluid will be more than adequate and far more than doing nothing. If I keep her 30K more miles, I will likely do a simple drain/fill and do a filter every 100K which would put me at 180K on the car, a point I will never reach, It will be sold well before that.
