I have a 1997 S 320. When I turned on the air conditioning today, cold air came out of the 2 central vents on the dash but warm air came out of the right and left vents on the dash. Does any one have an answer?

I just had the same problem that just started. Searching this forum showed a possability of the duo valve sticking. I think it is under the hood, left side by fire wall, under a cover. It looks like 2-aa batteries. A tap with a screwdriver handle might unstick it. It could also be a diverter flap stuck under the dash. A low freon charge might do it also. Today I had my freon checked and it was low. After topping it off, I still had the problem. Tomorrow I will try to find the duo valve and smack it. I hope this helps a little.
