Just does not cool.Ive heard crazy numbers of money for fixing the aircondition in the past with other car...please help

 

got to do primary diagnosis first... check refrigirant, fuses, etc.

 

I went to official mercedes here in oporto that Im living for the following couple of months and they asked of 200 euros just to examine it!!!

 

it's just an aircon.
try the smaller workshops. they might give you some direct answer.

dont flame me guys.im not even from here.Things are really different where i come from.I dont really trust these guys here.I recently had my normal maintenance done here in oporto in my second car XJ cherokee jeep and they took 2500Euros before they could have a look at the engine!!!

 

Just hope it is not the evaporator. 24 hours labor ALONE. THe 92-95 S's were imfamous for the evaporators - the Compressors are know to go also. Regardless, hope you brought your checkbook.

 

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever get it repaired? If so, please share your experience.

 

It could be the Heater line thats under your dash thats leaking freeon... thats what happened to mine, its 1000 bucks labor to fix it.. because

they have to pull out the dash

 

Thanks S320. I hope that's not the problem but it sounds better than replacing the evap. I still can't get over pressing that d@*n button. My a/c was working fine until I pressed that friggin d%&n button. Hell I may attempt to do the work myself. Anybody no how to remove the dashboard?!! LOL
