Hi, So I need help with my 2000 S430 I havent started it in a while so I went to crank it over the other day and the battery was dead. Ok Then I jump the car and starts right up but now my radio navigation screen and cruise control dont work. I dont have the fuse map anywhere in my car and was wondering if there is a relay for these things and if so where is it located which panel and position. Or if anyone has the fuse diagram for this car a pic would be great. Also, Is there a certain way to jump these carsto make sure this doesnt happne again. Thanks for the help

my car ( 2000 s430) went dead from sitting in garage while I was gone 2 months. I used a trickle charger instead of jumping the car. Its better for the battery if its completely dead. My fuse chart was tucked in with the tools in the styrofoam on top of the spare tire. It shows f25 location for cruise control . It is in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. Its a 10 amp and its 3rd back from the front according to my chart. F61 is sound system and also navigation and is a 15 amp mini fuse located in the group under the rear seat. Can't really tell its exact location.

Have you entered security code into the radio? I assume the Comand set up also requires a code although I'm not familiar with Comand.
"Strange" things occur after a dead battery and this is unavoidable since the module memories (volatile) loose their memory.
You will also need to trn your steering from full one way to full the other to reset the steering sensor. Likewise your windows and sunroof for the auto up/down mode to work correctly.
Once a battery has gone "flat" (less than 12.5 volts) it will never be the same again (irreversible chemical changes) and will let you down again at some point earlier than its 100% normal life.
However batteries are expensive so many people recharge and plough on in ignorance.
Trickle charge is the best answer if the car is left for periods > than lets say 10 days regularly.
