2000 mercedes s430 airmatic problem!!!
HERE IS THE PROBLEM, MY CAR IS SITTING IN THE GARAGE DUE TO MANY PROBLEM THAT I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHATS IS WRONG WITH IT YET. HOPING TO GET ANY SUGGESTION. WELL, I'VE TAKEN THE FRONT BUMPER OFF AND TOOK THE AIR PUMP OUT FOR THE AIR RIDE. IT WASN'T WORKING AT FIRST. SO I BROUGHT IT IN THE HOUSE AND WAITED A DAY. THE NEXT THEY EARLY MORNING I RECONNECT THE PUMP AND HOSE. START THE CAR UP AND THE PUMP WORK. . THE WHOLE CAR RAISED BACK UP. ABOUT EIGHT NINE HOUR OR SO, THE REAR END WAS LOW. SO I WAIT TIL THE NEXT DAY AGAIN AND THE REAR END WAS SITTING ON THE GROUND. STARTED THE CAR AND IT RAISED BACK UP. THE FRONT IS FINE BUT THE BACK IS GIVING ME SOME PROBLEM. EVERYDAY I HAVE TO START THE CAR AND HAVE THE REAR END TO COME BACK UP. DO ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE WHAT MAYBE THE CAUSE OF IT. OH, I FORGOT TO MENTION, I LIVE IN MN, ITS COLD OUT. THAT MAYBE THE CAUSE TO. BUT IDK.

there is a valve block above your compressor where all the air lines branch off...they go bad. but you probably have a broken or chaffed threw air line. and your front strut tops are probably leaking too.

similar problem
2000 s430 back end sitting way too low. compressor making noise like just blowing air and not pressurizing system...but not sure why front end is still fine if compressor is not working??? maybe airlock from a common manifold or something?

usually the fronts are a problem. could be anything . could be a chaffed airline to the back struts. could be a bad valve block above the suspension compressor. . really hard to say. first thing is get the compressor running then check or listen for air escaping, usually the lines will chafe at the front of the car by the bumper or at the valve block area. have you had any work done on the suspension in the past? did you have it done at a dealership?

thank you
it turned out to be the pump.
it literally came apart...looks like it was struck by something and the housing broke....
not too bad.. 350 pump and 150 labor in orange county ca.
could've been worse for sure.
thanks for your help
