Default 1995 S320v Need advice, thanks

I have a 1995 S320v w/ 60K miles. Car runs excellent with no problems howerver, After I have been at interstate speeds (80mph) and then slow down to normal driving speeds, the car starts missing. It feels like it is only firing on 4 cylinders, running rough to say the least. However, as soon as I turn it off and restart, the car runs fine. This only happens infrequently and when it does no indicator warning lights appear. Any suggestions? I'm thinking computer problems, spark plug wiring, spark plugs, etc. what should be my first step? Thanks for your help it is appreciated.

I just think that it is odd that I can go a week without a problem and then it will happen three times in one day and always after I slow down and start to accelerate again. Confused.

Not so sure about a V6 in an S class...
Too weak...
I had this sort of problem with my S500 Coupe and 300E before.
The 300E's problem came from the starter, whilst the S500 Coupe came from the electronics.
Ask your mechanic to check those parts first.
I hope that helps a little.

Hi Shayne, Your engine is an inline 6, not a V6 excellent motor. One of the best ever built. Anyhow I believe its your plug wires, Mercedes had a recall on the wiring harness some time ago, on most 1995 cars Like 7 years. The harness is to short and starts to break down from heat & oil. Spark plug area seems to be the first to go, if there is a harness problem ? Be very careful removing the plug boot from each spark plug as they include a coil attached on the top of each plug. Always disconnect your battier. One or more of your plug wires or maybe a coil is breaking down when real hot. The coils are about 200.00 each. Buy on line not the dearler. Good luck thats my best guess
