Ok thanks, I have found somebody that has the tools to remove the radio and will let me use them. A quick question before I start, when i take the console apart how would I clean the buttons if their still on the console? and with what do I clean the buttons with?

you have to unscrew them from the console first of course so you can have more space.

first, do it without prying out the button. it depends on what kind of sticky dirt was in there.

when i was in saudi arabia, the arabs eats dates and sometimes it goes into it. i use 70% alcohol or just kerosene. any mild cleaning compound will do...the same purpose.

if the sticky part is inside, then you need to pry out the button. pry from both sides. if the dirt is from the inside, open it... but please don't ask me how to open it since there is no definite instruction. best way is to bring it to a local electronic shop and let them do it.

The problem is my reset button isn't sticky, it works fine, just when I turn off my car it turns on the heat and drains my battery. To prevent this when it turns on I push the button down and put a little piece of paper on the side of the button so it keeps it down and doesn't turn it on. I don't like doing this because 1 its ghetto and 2 I forget to do it sometimes and it runs my battery down a lot. Do you think there is a way to fix this problem without getting a new computer, or bringing to the shop?

okay, now i get it.

the push button control unit itself was the problem. replace it.

the part number is: A 140 830 20 85
make: BOSCH

present price is: 950.00 euro.

you may start comparing price from different sources. if the dealer gives you a good price, then take it.

I was just searching around and I found www.krynock.com, do you know anything about this website, is this a good website? do they have good service? I saw the climat control I needed for my mercedes for like $380, but I wasn't sure which one to get A 074423- chassis or the -A-074422 chassis. Thanks

Man you are getting some great help. I'm very impressed. Not sure I should even butt in but I'd inspect and clean up your grounds.
