On most cars that had a parking feature for wipers behind or better said under the top of the hood, is usually a vacuum function. But I'm not familiar with your particular setup and Mercedes does things different. I had an American car years back that had this type of parking windshield function. The motor went and I had it replaced, but it didn't park down below and behind the hood. I took it back and the mechanic forget to hook up the vacuum hose that controlled the park function. I hope this helps.

i think it's normal.
it doesn't really goes further down in park position.
on the glass of the windsheild, you will see a marker there for the park position. it is sometimes a dark or transparent line about 1 cm long. that is for the basic setting.
