I have an ml320 that my wife says the radio was cutting in and out for days and she says now all of a sudden the radio seems to work and search for stations etc. but it has no audio. The radio does not seem to communicate with the CD changer either but I am able to insert and eject CD's and I can hear the CD changer turn on when the key is turned on or the radio is turned on. Has anyone had this issue and know of a remedy?

hi if you have a upgraded Bose system like me it has a amplifier hidden (not sure where but under the dash somewhere)this could be at fault....the only reason i know is i was messing with mine and unplugged the radio and on reconnecting i forgot to plug the 3 rd lead back in and radio was on but no sound so removed it again and plugged the one i missed and the sound came back so this lead must go via the amp to speaker outputs.........in your case check the connector on rear of stereo is in right and not worked lose and if that's OK and still no sound check the amp.

Hi not sure on colour of wires but the bose amp on the 99 ml320 is located under the passenger front seat in a box ......if you fit an after market cd you will need to check the feeds are the same in harness because one of the feeds from the harness plug will take a signal from radio to switch on the amp.....all the other speaker wires go through the amp so if the amp is not on you will get no sound...if the amp is switching on and you have a faulty amp you could bypass so speaker wires do not go through amp!
