Folks:

I am looking for an ESP Control Unit Part # A163 545 80 32 for my '01 ML. So far my mechanic has had no luck locating one and the part from the dealer is $1100!!!

Would anyone know where I could source a used or re-manufactured unit?? In addition I have read where you can have the module removed and sent out to have it repaired, reprogrammed and sent back for reinstallation. Has anyone had any experience with this??

Appreciate your thoughts and advice on this as currently the vehicle is driveable but without cruise, antilock or any of the other functions controlled by this unit.

PS - the brake light switch has been replaced as a first step.
