Default ML 320 crankshaft position sensor

Replaced the CPS on my car about three weeks ago after it wouldn't start and everthing worked fine until today--same problem, turn the key and nothing happens.

Would appreciate help. Thx.

Vince,
nothing happens mean cranking but no firing or completely dead?
If it's cranking OK, go back and clean harness plug contacts, per my PM.

Default ml320 crankshaft position sensor

There was no cranking of the engine at all--turn the key all the way and the instrument lights were all lit but no sound from the starter. The car started about one hour after it set for awhile and has started since (3x).
Frustrating!!

From my understanding, when there is a problem with crankshaft sensor, your engine would be cranking fine but ignition coils will not fire because piston position signal would be missing or incorrect compare to camshaft signal and valves position. that means CPS is not your starting problem.
