Check Engine light w/ error codes: P0170 & P0173
My check engine light is on (2001 ML320) and the error codes P0170 & P0173 come up when I had them check it at Autozone. They couldn't cross reference them to the mercedes. Does anyone know what the problem could be? It seems to be running fine...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Your self adaptation reached limits.
P0170 - Self adaptation of the partial load or idle mixture formation for right cylinder bank to limit value of ME-SFI control module (N3/10)
P0173 - Same thing just for Left cylinder bank
Could be air leak, fuel injectors of diaphragm-type pressure regulating valve, wear to engine
I would suggest to check all four CO2 (oxygen) sensors or your air supply tube to throttle valve body came loose.

The same error code showed up on my 1998 C230 too. Rather than trying to figure out the problem(s) as suggested in the other posts on this forum (which I did and ended up wasting a lot of time) my advice is to bring it to a mechanic with the Mercedes Benz STAR diagnostic scanner (basically a laptop) and it will tell you exactly what the problem is.
In my case, it was the MAF. So I bought one from autohauz (https://www.autohausaz.com/search/pr...ber=0280217114) and was able to replace it myself.
