2015 GLK Key Fob
I have a 2015 GLK with 60k miles and I have been getting a warning that I need to replace the Key Fob Battery. with both Fobs. I check the batteries in the fobs and they are okay? I change the batteries and I still get the same message on the display in the center. Do I need to reset something or is something else causing the warning notice to continue to stay on. In fact the other day it told me to pop the push button and insert the key? Can someone give me any info on this problem.
Sounds like the chip in the fob is not properly communicating with the vehicle's computer. Not sure if its the fobs themselves or if it's the car. Might need a dealership to hook a diag scanner to it and reprogram the keys and/or the car. I remember this happening near-daily basis with Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership. Always was something defective with the fobs, reprogramming them did nothing 90% of the time, ended up replacing fobs under warranty (if they were still new) and recommended new fobs for the customers that were not covered under warranty.
Definitely recommend bringing it to the dealership. Hope i could provide insight.
