Exclamation Window will not roll up - top gap

I replaced the passenger rear door in my '91 800e yesterday with a perfect match from the wrecking yard; right color. My daughter bashed it turning too sharp into a Cadillac bumper.

The rear passenger window will not roll up the last 2 inches. It just clunks to a stop. If I roll it down, I hear clunking rather than the usual quiet stop.

This is a cable driven system. I imagine it is out of timing or partially despooled. There is a little loose cable at the bottom when the windows is up as far as it now goes.

Is there an easy way to fix this?

My old door has a perfect windows system, but I wonder if it's easier to fix the cable timing while in the door than exchanging the 2 window systems.

Thanks for any advise,

I have a 93 300e that had the same problem on a rear window. Opened door up to find out there is a plastic piece on the vertical slide that had broken on one end and allowed it to pivot upside down, so that when you tried to roll it up it would stop 2 inches short of the seal and made the same clunking noise you are referring to when it would go to the bottom. Its a bit of a pain to get to, just make sure you are careful. A temporary fix is to get some one to hold onto the window and press the down button until you feel it turn the broken plastic piece to the correct position and then lift up while pressing the up button to get it to close. But the plastic piece may be wedged and keep you from doing this, but it worked for me until I could get it fixed.
