Default w124 blower motor trouble

i have '85 w124. my blower for the heater/ac has stopped working. i have looked at chematics in haymes repair manual and am trying to trace the wires from the fan speed control to a blower resistor. i cannot find this resistor. does any body know where this is. also does anybody know the correct way to access the blower motor itself . i have the under dash and center console removed from the car.

Blower on 124 chassis is not under the dash. It is under the hood/engine compartment, under the wiper assembly..
I assume you have checked the fuses?

ok. the first thing that i did was to remove all the vents and such under the wiper blade. but i did not see how i could get to the blower from there. all i saw was what i though was the housing to the blower. i have checked one fuse, in the main fuse box. it is fine. is there any other fuses?

ok... today took out the vent assembly as well as the wiper arm. i see the housing for the motor, but there is no way to access the motor itself from the outside. it has to be done from the inside of the car. ... i know no other way. but while i was under the hood, i found what i believe to be the power connector for the blower from the blower resistor. i disconnected the wires and applied 12v and ground to the respective pins, and the motor did not turn on.. so i am pretty sure the motor is my problem. so i am working on finding a replacement motor now, and would still like to know if anybody has any knowledge of accessing a blower motor from the inside of the car

dude you cant test the motor until it is out. on the black box containing the motor there are clips pop them and you can get at the motor easy

I replaced the blower motor on my 1988 300 TE per the manual and it still won't work. What's next? The regulator or the switches?

A week ago my car sat out and the tempurature got down to 30 degrees. When I started it that morning the blower motor worked as the switch happened to be set to auto. It stayed on and worked until I decided that I should test it on low and high and it hasn't worked in any mode since.

Where is the regulator and how hard a switch is it? Any ideas? Winter looms.

Leo,

You are right..I'm not a mbz mechanic, but I'm getting there. Thanks for the info. Now, do you have any idea where the blower motor fuse is and what it looks like?
